Mobile security vendor Mocana Corp. announced the latest release of its flagship product, Mobile App Protection. The company says the new release, Mocana MAP 2.4.4, simplifies secure access to multiple MAP-protected applications on mobile devices, eliminating tedious password re-entry and facilitating secure data sharing among apps.

The new version of MAP also gives administrators shared password recovery for devices across the enterprise, regardless of whether those devices are managed by a mobile device management product.

“With this new 2.4.4 release, the entire user experience for MAP-protected apps — from deployment to administration to day-to-day usage — has been significantly improved,” Alan Brenner, senior vice president of products and engineering at Mocana, said in a statement.

MAP is designed to help organizations accelerate mobility initiatives by automating iOS and Android app security. Its patent-pending app-shielding technology allows managers to point and click to add new security to existing mobile apps within seconds, without having to write any code. Enterprises can preserve the native app experience while still providing the needed data security.

The product enables application development teams to customize security policies for each app while taking advantage of FIPS 140-2 encryption and standards-based communication protocols, Mocana says.

Mocana Mobile App Protection 2.4.4 is available now by subscription or on a perpetual license basis, and will also be distributed globally by Mocana partner SAP as SAP Mobile App Protection by Mocana.
