Metapa, Inc., a leading provider of database clustering software for decision support, and Sun Microsystems, Inc. announced a pricebuster solution that integrates Metapa’s "purpose-built" database clustering software on low-cost, x86-based hardware systems from Sun. This team effort combines Metapa’s Cluster DataBase (CDB), pretested and certified to run on the Sun’s Solaris Operating System (OS) (x86 Platform Edition) and the Sun Fire V60x, V65x and V20z servers.

Metapa's database clustering software on Sun's systems helps bring the power of low-cost computing to data warehousing, allowing customers to store and analyze critical event data at levels of detail that were previously not economically feasible. The joint solution combines servers, storage, database and clustering software into a powerful integrated system that can handle complex analytical queries at tens to hundreds of terabytes.

Metapa and Sun will work together to deploy this integrated solution across a number of key vertical markets, including telecommunications, financial services, Internet services and retail.
