Melissa Data, a provider of data quality software and services, announced the release of their new 64-bit versions of Address Object - now available for UNIX users of both the Hewlett-Packard and the IBM versions of the operating systems, HP-UX and AIX. Address Object now functions across multiple platforms including Windows, Linux and Solaris to give programmers and developers greater flexibility and extensibility for data hygiene. These new 64-bit versions allow companies operating big iron 64-bit servers the ability to maximize the performance of their enterprise software.
Address Object is a tool used to verify addresses, in real-time or batch processes, by comparing the address submitted against the U.S. Postal Service database of 145 million deliverable addresses. Using this filtering tool helps protect against fraud, waste and excess mailing costs by cleaning a company's database of inaccurate, incomplete or undeliverable addresses.
