MapInfo Corporation announced the availability of MapInfo PSYTE U.S. Advantage, the company's industry-leading neighborhood profiling solution completely reengineered with new, location-enhanced lifestyle and consumer demographics. Through its scientific and systematic cluster development, PSYTE U.S. Advantage enables companies to make more precise consumer buying and lifestyle behavior predictions, as well as make more insightful decisions regarding store placement, customer acquisition and target marketing.

MapInfo characterizes America via 72 all-new "clusters" or neighborhood types. Each cluster is unique in terms of key demographics, consumer behavior and location. PSYTE U.S. Advantage is the only neighborhood segmentation system that can be augmented with a company's proprietary data. MapInfo can quickly customize clusters to address a company's specific market and provide the most powerful and tailored clustering option. For example, an ad agency could use a client's transaction and location data to segment its customers into individual clusters. MapInfo identified the new "neighborhoods to watch" providing unique insight into the people in your neighborhood.

  • Hispanic Hopes – Recognizing the evolving Hispanic population, MapInfo developed several new clusters. One, Hispanic Hopes, is comprised of young, up-and-coming professionals living in a diverse cultural environment. Although dominated by 55 percent Hispanic origin, two-thirds of this cluster speaks only or primarily English.
  • Moo's and Moderns – This cluster is a mix of new and old traditions. Young family householders with college educations work in metro areas, living on land where cows once roamed. Some neighbors, however, still tend herds and crops, driving the farm employment index over 200.
  • East Meets West – Most members of this cluster are Asian-American families with children. They live in their own homes with neighbors who are a mix of Hispanics, other Asians and other Americans. Often college educated, they work in a variety of industries but index highest in mathematical and computer science occupations.
