ManageIQ, a provider of enterprise cloud management and automation products, introduced EVM Version 5 (V5), which provides unified cloud management that enables companies to provision and manage IT services across physical, virtual, private and public cloud infrastructures.

The new release extends EVM’s management capabilities (including provisioning, resource management, monitoring, governance and compliance) to public cloud platforms, thereby providing a single platform to manage the migration and adoption of hybrid cloud computing.

“We see our customers evolving their cloud strategies to include public clouds, so we have extended EVM to manage both private and public clouds in an integrated, hybrid fashion—addressing the needs of cloud management in the enterprise,” Joseph Fitzgerald, ManageIQ chief product officer, said in a statement.

Effective delivery and management of IT services across hybrid clouds requires real-time management and automation capabilities that are unified, not loosely coupled integrations that leave visibility, governance and automation gaps, the company says.

ManageIQ is addressing these requirements architecturally, through an Adaptive Management Platform that enables continuous closed-loop management, tightly coupling provisioning together with configuration, resource and workload automation.

“To fully realize the benefits of virtualization and cloud, IT management teams need integrated systems management solutions that can dynamically optimize application performance and resource utilization across a range of virtual and physical platforms including hybrid private and public clouds,” Mary Johnston Turner, research vice president at IDC, said in a statement. “Effective hybrid cloud management solutions need to do more than simply enable self-service provisioning. They need to provide real time, policy-based control across multi-tier applications and diverse infrastructure resources, in order to keep business requirements and IT utilization continuously aligned."
