Lighthouse Security Group released a new version of its Lighthouse Gateway, a software-as-a-service identity and access management platform, that features more self-service and control options. The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lighthouse Computer Services, also announced expanded operations to support the launch of the new service.

Lighthouse Gateway is based on the identity and access management (IAM) platform the company’s engineers designed and deployed for the U.S. Air Force. Lighthouse Security has successfully deployed the platform at mid-sized companies, such as VantisLife Insurance, and large enterprises, including Molson Coors Brewing.

The Lighthouse Gateway platform includes a suite of identity management, Web access management and federated IAM capabilities designed to help organizations protect sensitive information, manage user access rights and entitlements, and adhere to compliance requirements.

The new release of the service includes built-in user self-service applications, such as password reset, access request, and self-registration. Another feature, Identity & Access Intelligence, provides new controls that enable IT and security administrators to create customized reports that meet compliance and auditory requirements while translating user access data into information that business managers can understand and use to mitigate risk.

“IAM is a process by which accountability, transparency and control of access to critical IT-based resources is done,” Earl Perkins, research vice president at research firm Gartner Inc., said in a statement. “When it comes to transparency, identity and access intelligence is the key ingredient not only for IT, but also for the business itself. Business managers can use this intelligence to know who has access to what and who gave that access, and also to identify areas of concern when it comes to compliance and take remediation steps as a result.”
