Language Analysis Systems announced a partnership with Hong Kong-headquartered Quest Research to provide advanced name recognition technology to Asia's leading background screening company. As a result of the partnership, Quest Research will improve its "Know-Your-Client" background screening capabilities with respect to Middle-Eastern and Asian names.

The risks posed to any bank or business operating in, or transacting with, Asia and the Middle East are well understood. However, many organizations have been faced with confusing results due to their systems' inability to understand Asian and Arabic naming conventions. "The problem this has posed is that banks will often waste their time on 'false positives' rather than focusing on genuinely suspect transactions and individuals," said John Baxter, Director of Screening Services, Quest Research.

Seven of the top ten U.S. investment banks already use IntegraScreen, Quest's Enhanced Due Diligence solution to research possible money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud risks, or to screen new accounts. Quest has selected LAS technology to improve IntegraScreen's search capabilities and will integrate LAS search tools into IntegraScreen Online, Asia's most comprehensive Enhanced Due Diligence database solution. Additionally, Quest will offer LAS products to its governmental and commercial clients in the Middle East, South Asia and East Asia.

Language Analysis Systems is the recognized leader in providing multi-cultural name recognition software solutions for mission critical applications. LAS has worked with U.S. Intelligence and Border Protection agencies for nearly two decades, developing a revolutionary and patent-pending approach to name matching and searching, going far beyond simplistic Soundex and key-based approaches.
