March 25, 2013 – Klout, a social analytics company that measures online influence, has announced Klout for Business, a free analytics portal for organizations to better understand and direct social marketing efforts.

According to the Klout website, identifying influential users will allow businesses to maximize social efforts through exact targeting. Klout states that 80 percent of all influencer impressions are made by a mere 6 percent of social media users, and tools offered as part of Klout for Business, such as Klout Perks and audience insights, help companies “empower these respected influencers to share” about the brand.

Klout for Business represents a more measured approach to the data-driven intelligence the company has developed over the years, said Matthew Thomson, vice president of business development at Klout, in a blog post. “Initially, Klout for Business will give businesses a complimentary set of analytics with pointed insights into how and where influencers are engaging with their brands in social media.”

According the Klout website, organizations such as Disney, Spotify, Audi and Sony, among others, are already using Klout Perks to understand and build relationships with social influencers.
