The report "Italy: Data Essentials" revealed that nearly 50 percent of the Italian population will be online by the end of 2008 (compared to 35% in 2003) and that 39 percent of Italian Internet households will have a broadband connection in that year (compared to 17 percent in 2003). The "France: Data Essentials" report found that France will rank third in Europe in gross online commerce spending in 2007, after the U.K. and Germany, with spending of EUR11.4 billion (compared to EUR3.5 billion in 2003).
