November 18, 2009 – iWay Software, an Information Builders company, has released iWay Cloud Services for Amazon Elastic Cloud Computing, providing the company’s enterprise integration solutions on demand.

iWay Cloud Services for Amazon EC2 allows users to deploy integration technologies in the cloud, according to a company release. It provides connections to internal applications, systems and databases. It also provides access to Internet-based Web services and databases, and can be integrated with other software as a service-based solutions.

The new release provides users with a scalable deployment model that can be expanded at any time; full customizability to address integration requirements; Web-based access to tools; and a secure environment leveraging the iWay RVI Secure Proxy Service.

iWay’s announcement follows a series of new cloud releases and upgrades this month, including Informatica Cloud 9, Autonomy’s Cloud-Based Solution for eDiscovery and Compliance, IBM Rational Software Delivery Services for Cloud Computing and Knoa Virtual/Cloud Experience Manager.

Global spending for technologies delivered via the SaaS model are expected to increase this year, according to a report released last week by market research firm Gartner Inc. SaaS revenue is forecast to increase nearly 18 percent in 2009.Analysts expect the market to demonstrate consistent growth through 2013, including development in cloud infrastructure from providers like Amazon.

Mark Smith, CEO and executive vice president at Ventana Research, was quoted to say that with growing volumes of data in public and private cloud computing environments, providing data for business must be addressed as part of a broad information management and business intelligence investment.

“Using cloud computing strategies and finding methods to be more strategic with IT budgets has many paths of which each have a multitude of ramifications to existing operations. IT needs to fully engage into what is called IT Performance Management and document their strategies and scenarios to determine the best alignment for business in an effective manner. Just as business uses strategy and planning software to determine their alternatives with documented metrics and goals, IT should do the same. ” Smith said in an Information Management blog.

Smith was quoted to say that Information Builders’ new release is a robust and cost effective approach that leverages the immediate availability of Amazon EC2. “It provides a simple but sophisticated avenue to interconnect, cleanse and profile data across systems, networks and cloud based computing environments.”
