Open source software is slowly-but surely-catching on with the data warehousing and business intelligence market. Survey.com, Campbell, Calif., recently surveyed about 600 CIOs and senior IT managers at large and medium-sized companies and found that open source software was cited as leading warehousing and business intelligence tool by over eight percent of all respondents. "The open source software contingent might break out of the pack and eventually impact the current leaders," the survey says. "IBM is one vendor who has embraced open source software wholeheartedly, who will likely serve as a boost to open source in the warehousing/BI market." For more information, please visit survey.com.
