Excerpt from RFG Digest March 1, 2004: Although the onslaught of new regulations requiring IT actions may appear relentless, there is good news on multiple fronts. Regulations from different jurisdictions have overlapping requirements. Meanwhile, new vendor offerings are emerging that combine hardware and software to address fundamental requirements, and third-party associations are beginning to offer point solutions for high-cost, low-value needs.
RFG Recommends: Each of these trends may be used as the basis of an integrated approach to compliance, but a combination of them offers a strong, cost-effective strategy. IT executives should review these developments to identify the best opportunity for integration into their own compliance strategies.
RFG in Action: RFG has helped numerous IT executives to evaluate compliance products and solutions, and has helped IT executives determine where deployment of such solutions may produce the most business benefit. RFG has also helped IT executives to evaluate current and pending compliance strategies in the enterprise, to ensure that those executives' enterprises do not overlook important compliance requirements or become exposed to litigation.
