Product announcement from DAMA International Symposium and Wilshire Meta-Data Conference held in Los Angeles, California May 2-6, 2004.

Innovative Systems, Inc., a global provider of customer data integration solutions, announced the availability of i/Lytics Data Profiler, the company's next generation data profiling and analysis solution. i/Lytics Data Profiler minimizes the time, costs and risks associated with data migrations and reinforces the enterprise data integration capabilities of the i/Lytics data quality software suite.

Recognizing the significant benefits of upfront data analysis to the success of data conversions and integration projects, Innovative has offered data profiling capabilities since 2001. i/Lytics Data Profiler builds upon Innovative's data auditing and analysis experience and provides streamlined investigation capabilities that enable i/Lytics customers to more easily and accurately manage their data assets throughout the data management life cycle of data investigation, auditing, integration, cleansing, linking and change management.  By generating detailed information about the state of legacy data, i/Lytics Data Profiler helps data analysts to determine the applicable data quality transformations and business rules that should be applied during the data conversion process, substantially reducing the time and effort required for data integration projects and minimizing the risk of integration failure.

"For more than three decades, Innovative Systems has had a solid track record of providing data management solutions," said Robert Lerner, senior analyst with Current Analysis. "Innovative was the first data quality vendor company to offer data profiling capabilities as part of its overall data quality solution set. The introduction of i/Lytics Data Profiler is testament to the company's ability to respond both to the consolidations in the marketplace and to the needs of its customer base at a time when increasing recognition of the importance of data profiling to enterprise customer data initiatives is significant. Innovative's customers should be pleased with this introduction."

i/Lytics Data Profiler is an automated source data profiling solution that provides a detailed view of the data's metadata including structure, content, descriptions, values, formats, frequencies, patterns, ranges, keys and joins. With its distributed architecture, i/Lytics Data Profiler can be used to centrally analyze data across any number of differing environments ranging from delimited, fixed-length files to RDBMS data sources. Its multi-user platform provides easy access for data analysis teams, and it includes extensive and flexible reporting capabilities.

"Most leading organizations recognize that their data is the lifeblood of their operations, and to keep operations performing at optimum levels the data must be properly maintained," said Jeff Canter, Innovative's executive vice president of operations. "Central to any enterprise data management program is the upfront data analysis and diagnosis. With i/Lytics Data Profiler, Innovative has enhanced our data profiling capabilities to provide our customers with a seamless flow for analyzing, diagnosing and then painlessly treating the data quality problems that exist within their legacy systems. i/Lytics Data Profiler will help our customers to protect the value of their data by enabling them to identify and treat data quality problems at their source, thereby eliminating the spread of corrupt data across the enterprise."

i/Lytics Data Profiler is available as a standalone data investigation solution with connectors for interoperability with the i/Lytics data quality software suite. It will be available as an integrated component of i/Lytics later this year. For more information, contact Innovative Systems at (800) 622-6390.
