Westboro, Mass., Nov. 29, 2000 – Informix Business Solutions, an independent operating company of Informix Corporation, announced the outcome of the company's fourth industry expert panel discussion at The Data Warehousing Institute's (TDWI) Sixth Annual Leadership Conference in San Diego, November 7, 2000. The panel discussion, entitled "Return on Information: Profiting from Your E-Business Solutions," provided the 75 attendees with techniques to efficiently manage enterprise information management in today's Internet- intensive economy. Corporate and industry experts discussed effective information sharing, organizational efficiencies and the need for flexible analytic infrastructure to maximize profitability.

Panel host Sarah Bassett of Informix Business Solutions and panelists Wayne Eckerson of The Data Warehousing Institute, Rob Goodman of Juniper Bank, Dirk Mahling of Primix Solutions, Jody Mulkey of Bizrate.com and Phil Russom of Hurwitz Group examined the critical need for information management solutions that offer enterprise-wide access to business intelligence and e-commerce data. This panel addressed the role of portals, which are enabling companies to share information across enterprise business intelligence, e-commerce and information management solutions; integration of disparate information systems; and the Internet's impact on business intelligence.

"The key to successful e-businesses is to fill the business intelligence gap by implementing an e-intelligence infrastructure," said Wayne Eckerson, of TDWI. "By complimenting an organization's content and commerce servers with an e-Intelligence infrastructure, organizations have the basis for a robust e- business solution."
