October 19, 2011 – ERP and business application software provider Infor announced it has purchased the ENXSuite product line, a cloud-based performance management platform. Further details of the deal were not disclosed.

ENXSuite, a provider which shares its name with the platform purchased by Infor, specializes in energy management and green-friendly enterprise intelligence. The product line is used by hundreds of enterprises, including Northrop Grumman, K-Mart, Smuckers and Morgan Stanley, according to the ENXSuite website, which made no mention of the potential deal for the product line.

In a news release announcing the acquisition, Infor called the product line a “natural complement” to its own Infor10 energy and asset management offering, and stated the ENXSuite platform would also boost Infor’s operational and environmental compliance capabilities.

Ralph Rio, enterprise software research director, ARC Advisory Group, said in a statement accompanying the deal that the combination of Infor10 EAM and the ENXSuite platform gives “tools needed to plan, execute, monitor KPIs, and report the financial benefits of their sustainability program."

Infor has had an up-and-down last 18 months, registering far fewer ERP sales but also spending $2 billion to purchase rival Lawson Software, which recently made its own acquisition of GRC provider Approva.

Infor plans to display its energy management and sustainability offerings November 7-10, 2011 at EAM 2011 Customer Forum.
