Spirent Communications and TeaLeaf Technology, Inc. announced the integration of Spirent's Avalanche load testing solution and TeaLeaf's RealiTea Web application management solution to provide enterprise customers with a simplified way to create realistic Web site and Web application tests. In addition, the two companies have entered into a joint integration and sales agreement to deliver a complete solution for their customers. The combination of Avalanche and RealiTea allows customers to create load test scenarios directly from real user traffic, thereby creating more effective tests, speeding up the testing process and lowering cost.

By combining RealiTea with Avalanche, enterprises are able to reduce the cost of creating and maintaining test scripts and obtain more accurate analysis of their site's performance. Avalanche test scripts can be automatically generated from real user sessions recorded by RealiTea. By automatically generating scripts from sessions recorded by RealiTea, web applications can be tested using a significantly broader range of scenarios, paths and inputs to ensure a more reliable and available application.

Spirent's Avalanche load testing appliance provides accurate simulation of user behavior for a virtually unlimited number of users. Avalanche enables enterprises to:

  • Verify Web site performance with realistic user scenarios and network conditions before deployment;
  • Test defenses against denial of service attacks; and
  • Isolate bottlenecks to software, servers or the network and avoid over-provisioning.
