I'm now doing a thesis about data mining in e-commerce. What techniques or patterns can I use other than association, clustering and classification. If I use a sequential pattern to analyze the data, where do I start.

A:

Mike Jennings’ Answer: Other data mining techniques that can be used include regression and time series. Regression uses existing values to predict new values. Time series also uses existing values for predictions but respective of the unique variations in time. Algorithms used with these methods include linear regression and neural net.
