I'm looking for a middleware product that sits between an SQL-issuing application and multiple physical database instances that are segmented by table and primary key range. I'd like the tool to provide a connection manager and SQL router function where all database connections are equal and SQL commands are routed to the correct database instance based on tables accessed and/or the key range.Any thoughts?

Chuck Kelley's Answer: None that I like. The question is why do you wish to do this (and these are all very valid reasons!)? Is it because the DBMS does not provide for data partitioning at the data value level? Is it because your DW/DM is getting too large to deal within a single instance? Is it because you built multiple data marts and are now trying to link them together? The answer to this will drive the products that you may wish to look at.
