IDS Scheer North America, a provider of business process excellence services and tools, has announced that its award-winning ARIS Toolset has become the first business process management tool to support all the major BPM standard in the industry: business process modeling language (BPML), business process modeling notation (BPMN) and business process execution language (BPEL).

The BPML and BPMN standards are set by the Business Process Management Initiative, a non-profit corporation that empowers companies of all sizes, across all industries, to develop, operate and improve business processes that span multiple applications and business partners, behind the firewall and over the Internet. BPEL is being driven by the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS), a not-for-profit, international consortium that drives the development, convergence and adoption of e-business standards.

SAP uses BPEL as their key standard for their exchange infrastructure (XI) within SAP NetWeaver.  IDS Scheer recently announced its ARIS for SAP NetWeaver solution that provides the components to design and architect business process models that are seamlessly integrated with the SAP NetWeaver process configuration and execution models using BPEL.

IDS Scheer is also working withObject Management Group (OMG) on the business process definition (BPD) metamodal next generation BPM specification.  OMG is an open membership, not-for-profit consortium that produces and maintains computer industry specifications for interoperable enterprise applications.
