San Jose, Calif., Sept. 27, 1999 - Survey.com, a leading e-research services company, announced that results of the BI/DW Research Program's Data Base Solutions III (DBS III) survey established IBM as the leading data warehousing and business intelligence systems vendor in both customer satisfaction and mindshare. In 1998, IBM was the leading BI/DW vendor with revenues estimated at $4.25 Billion.
For overall customer satisfaction, IBM received the most "extremely satisfied" customer mentions of any system vendor in a random survey of 500 North American companies. Hewlett Packard was a close second followed by Compaq and Sun Microsystems. IBM was ranked first in overall business intelligence and data warehousing mindshare followed by Sun Microsystems, Hewlett Packard and Compaq.
