August 13, 2009 - IBM has announced the release of new eDiscovery software with advanced analytics features to help clients gain better insight and understanding into their information, while helping to minimize legal discovery costs and improve legal strategy decisions. According to the announcement, new features in IBM InfoSphere eDiscovery Manager and IBM InfoSphere eDiscovery Analyzer provide capabilities accelerate organizational agility in responding to litigation, regulatory, and freedom of information requests.

As regulatory compliance requirements grow, organizations are looking for ways to meet those demands while lowering costs and risks associated with eDiscovery. An Information Management article by Joe Looby explains the problem: “The explosion in the amount of email and electronic documents that the average company generates and the wide distribution of such documents across the corporate enterprise make it challenging to identify potentially relevant information.”

This new product announcement follows other recent analytics news from IBM, including their acquisition of SPSS and introduction of stream computing software for advanced analytics.
