I am interested in any business intelligence trend analysis that has been completed for the legal market. Where is this market today and where are they going?
Sid Adelman's Answer: In police departments, they use BI for patterns and trends of criminal activity. The federal government uses BI for compliance research. State governments have used BI for auditing and fraud investigation of social services. A manufacturing company's legal department uses DW to substantiate trademark claims in foreign markets. A number of industries use BI for contract management and fraud detection. An adjunct to BI is competitive intelligence, much of it involving legal research. An expert in this area is Jill Hurst.
