July 23, 2012 – HP made automation and database discovery the focal points of the first major upgrade of its configuration management system in two years.

Offered under HP’s overall IT Performance Suite, the new Configuration Management System 10 was due for some enhancements in part from the rise in demand for oversight and scale with infrastructure systems spurred by the boom in cloud computing, says HP Marketing Manager Jimmy Augustine. The latest version of HP’s CMS includes a unified discovery solution, deeper location and cataloging functionality for new enterprise tech, capabilities to set server compliance thresholds, and enhanced scalability and a new configuration manager and browser for its Universal Configuration Management Database.
