Hewlett-Packard and SAP have announced an agreement in which HP Enterprise Services is providing cloud-based delivery of SAP applications, beginning with SAP Customer Relationship Management.
SAP CRM will be available to customers via HP Enterprise Services’ commercial data centers around the world, the companies say. HP is bundling the necessary infrastructure, platform and application services in an as-a-service model, allowing customers to pay on a per-seat basis for what they need to run the applications and processes.
“Cloud delivery models are becoming a top priority for clients due to their quick deployments, cost-effectiveness and overall flexibility,” Eric Clark, vice president of enterprise application services at HP Enterprise Services, said in a statement. “In collaboration with SAP, HP is empowering clients to dramatically increase the availability and speed of business information via the cloud.”
By accessing SAP CRM and subsequent applications in the cloud, companies will be able to benefit from easier and faster deployments, the companies say.
“SAP is committed to providing customers flexibility in software deployment options and innovations in cloud computing,” Kevin Ichhpurani, senior vice president of ecosystem and channels at SAP, said in a statement. “Through expanded cloud delivery options via HP, we can provide global users with secure, reliable access to essential business applications while helping companies contain hardware and management costs.”
HP is an SAP-certified global provider of cloud services, application management services and hosting services. Offering SAP CRM as a cloud-based offering broadens the 20-year relationship between the companies.
