Palo Alto, Calif., Oct. 20, 1999 - Hewlett-Packard Company announced it has teamed with Viador Inc. to deliver the industry's first online implementation service that enables the rapid deployment of an enterprise information portal (EIP). The new online service will unlock customer and supplier information and give corporate users, as well as business partners, secure access to information from a single point of access. HP and Viador plan to offer joint implementation services that allow customers to overcome time and cost barriers for building enterprise portals and keeping them online, with complete deployment in just six weeks.

Together, HP and Viador plan to integrate their broad professional services expertise into a jointly delivered methodology that will serve as an EIP roadmap. This methodology will help customers harness information to build customer loyalty and streamline supplier relationships in the new e-services world. The subsequent steps in the methodology include HP and Viador experts guiding customers through data source identification, security integration, user personalization, portal implementation and global rollout. At the end of the six-week implementation, companies may choose whether to purchase the portal and bring it in-house or keep it online in a secure, hosted environment.
