Hewlett-Packard released an applications performance testing product, called LoadRunner-in-the-Cloud, that enables its partners to use the cloud to deliver performance validation of Web 2.0, AJAX, mobile and other applications to their customers.

The offering complements HP’s own services for performance validation, which span on-premise, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and managed services. These services allow HP’s business partners to select the offerings that best meet their testing requirements, timeline and budget, the company says.

“Organizations that do not have robust performance testing may face application delivery delays or risk performance bottlenecks if they are unable to get timely access to testing resources,” Matthew Morgan, senior director of software products and solution marketing at HP, said in a statement.

LoadRunner-in-the-Cloud, combined with a partner’s cloud infrastructure, will enable organizations to accelerate time-to-market with access to the hardware and software resources needed to conduct application performance testing, HP says. It will also allow them to simplify performance testing of complex applications with HP LoadRunner’s TruClient, a feature that reduces testing cycles by cutting script time and correlation for Web 2.0 applications by as much as 50%.

“Composite architectures, with so many moving parts, can easily become points of failure if not tested prior to deployment,” Dennis Matson, director of sales at Genilogix, said in a statement. “We are pleased to partner with HP to deliver a pay-as-you-go, on-demand option for application performance testing that enhances application quality and accelerates time-to-value.”

LoadRunner-in-the-Cloud is available to qualified HP partners based in the U.S. and Canada. Market pricing is determined by participating partners on an individual basis.
