Compared to information technology workers in other disciplines, data warehousing professionals are relatively well paid. According to an annual salary survey recently published by The Data Warehousing Institute, average salaries for DW and business intelligence professionals rose from $77,330 in 1999 to $78,884 in 2000.
The average bonus amount was $10,860, which represents 14 percent of the annual salary. The survey notes that the average salary for a data warehousing professional with four-to-six years of DW experience is $86,098, compared to $116,664 for someone with more than 11 years of experience.
