The integration competency center and IT teams sometimes struggle when requisitioning and implementing new data integration technologies like data services because of organizational resistance, and not for technological reasons. Yet, taking a tentative approach to data integration is no longer an option, because there’s no end in sight to ever-growing volumes and complexity of source data, nor to the seemingly insatiable demand for business insight this information affords. To assist efforts to deploy and benefit from data services, this article looks at both common organizational barriers to adoption and examples of applicable strategies used by successful adopters.
