The biggest issue facing information technology managers is deciding upon an EIP platform that delivers a robust and scalable performance.
Based on results from a survey conducted by Hummingbird Ltd., an enterprise software development company, most small and medium-sized organizations will deploy EIPs on Windows 2000, while Fortune 500 companies will utilize Sun Solaris and HP/UNIX. When fully deployed, companies expect their EIP to have personalization, workflow/user publication, customization, search/navigation, security/administration, taxonomy/categorization and knowledge management functionality.
