Palo Alto, Calif., Aug. 16, 1999 - Hewlett-Packard Company announced that NEC Corporation will license and distribute HP Open View NetMetrix network-performance-monitoring software to Japanese customers. NEC Corporation spans such fields as multimedia, computers, communications and electronic devices. Under the terms of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement, HP will license a Japanese-version master CD of the entire portfolio of HP Open View NetMetrix software for use on the HP-UX operating environment. NEC will sell this product as one of its system- and network-management solutions.
"This relationship with NEC strengthens NetMetrix's remote-monitoring market presence in Japan and provides a much sought-after network-performance solution for enterprise customers in Japan," said Anita Manwani, general manager of HP's NetMetrix Division.
