Q:

A number of our clients have expressed interest in being able to integrate their GIS systems directly with the data warehouse overlaying spatial data with non-spatial data to enable the ability to draw a circle on a GIS map and drill through to (query) the data warehouse to pull back the non-spatial data relating to the assets that are within the circled mapped area. Have any of your specialists aware of this being done before and how it was achieved?

A:

Chuck Kelley's Answer: There are many applications in this area - government (GSA, HUD, Agriculture and Energy), utility companies, banks, retail, etc. Try contacting some of these companies to discuss the good and bad of each of their solutions.
