Group 1 Software announced the availability of Centrus GeoCoder for ESRI ArcGIS, an advanced geocoding solution for users of ArcGIS, ESRI's flagship geographic information systems (GIS) software. Group 1's new solution provides integrated address validation and geographic analysis and enhancement. ESRI is the world's leading developer of GIS software. ArcGIS is a family of software for geographic data creation, management, integration and analysis.
Centrus GeoCoder for ESRI ArcGIS is the newest module of Group 1's Centrus business geographics suite. Centrus offers the industry's most comprehensive, accurate and powerful software solutions for business geographics applications. Through its easily embeddable technology and wide array of third-party data sources, Centrus provides the solution to operational problems where location is critical.
"Group 1's Centrus GeoCoder for ESRI ArcGIS can help our users by enhancing the existing geocoding functionality within ArcGIS," said Jack Dangermond, ESRI president. "We look forward to working with Group 1 even more in the future to meet our joint customers' growing needs."
Centrus GeoCoder for ESRI ArcGIS delivers precise positional accuracy, enabling users to increase the effectiveness of their ESRI technologies. The new solution permits users to enhance customer information with a wealth of geographic data, including latitude/longitude, Census information and Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) state and county codes. The new technology can also handle street-level data from leading data providers such as GDT, Navigation Technologies and Tele Atlas as well as the Census Bureau's TIGER files. Because of the unrivaled speed of the Centrus technology, ESRI customers can process large record sets very rapidly.
"The new Centrus solution was designed to integrate seamlessly with ArcGIS for fast and accurate mapping and spatial analysis," said Steve Walden, vice president and general manager of Group 1's Centrus division. "As longstanding ESRI partners, we are pleased to expand upon this synergistic relationship by developing an ESRI-specific solution. The thousands of organizations using ArcGIS for mapping will now have the power of our leading technology to make business decisions where location is of strategic importance."
