IT consulting and outsourcing firm Capgemini and its subsidiary Sogeti jointly launched of a new suite of cloud-based services to help clients create and implement mobile strategies.

As part of the launch, Capgemini and Sogeti are developing a dedicated Mobile Applications Service Centre of Excellence in India, where 250 experts will support the delivery of mobile applications for customers around the world.

The new Mobile Solutions service line will leverage Capgemini Group’s partnerships with leading technology companies including Microsoft, SAP, and Sybase to create a “mobile partner ecosystem,” according to Capgemini. Costs of the services are tailored to client requirements, based on software-as-a-service (SaaS) or platform-as-a-service (PaaS) models.

The service line comprises five key components, provided either as a single offering or as one end-to-end solution, Capgemini says. These include Mobile Strategy, which helps organizations develop a coherent mobile plan; Mobile Applications, which covers the entire application development cycle; Managed Mobility, end-to-end application lifecycle services including application and device management; Mobile Platforms, tools and services that enable mobile solutions for multiple platforms; and Reselling, which allows customers to access Capgemini partners’ mobile platforms, infrastructure hardware and mobile devices, through licensing technology from Capgemini Group’s vendor partners.

“Smart phones, tablets and apps have embedded mobile technology firmly into our lives and this revolution is transforming the way we work and interact,” Fernando Alvarez, mobile solutions global service line leader at Capgemini, said in a statement. “Organizations everywhere must respond or risk being left behind.”
