Defense contractor General Dynamics has acquired Network Connectivity Solutions Corp. (Netconn), a provider of cloud computing and enterprise services to the U.S. Department of Defense.

The terms of the cash transaction are not being disclosed.

Founded in 1997, Netconn provides IT services to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and other Department of Defense (DOD) agencies. The company provides hosted or network-centric operations, including data center infrastructure, engineering, information assurance and edge computing.

Based in Hagerstown, Md., Netconn has about 160 employees.

“Netconn’s capabilities and relationships will bolster General Dynamics’ strong portfolio of services and solutions aimed at helping the Defense Department cut costs and increase efficiency while meeting large-scale, enterprise IT requirements,” Dan Johnson, president of General Dynamics Information Technology, said in a statement.

General Dynamics noted Netconn has participated in all aspects of data center design for DISA, as well as implementation and operation as a prime contractor since 1997. It is also supporting the DOD as it prepares for the Federal government’s data center consolidation initiatives.
