December 18, 2007 - According to a poll conducted by Tideway Systems, nearly half of respondents view the gathering and maintenance of quality configuration data as the biggest challenges they have encountered when implementing configuration management database (CMDB) projects.

The poll was held during a joint Tideway and Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) webinar.

A total of 129 respondents, including representatives from global investment banks, brokerage firms and healthcare organizations, were asked to name the key challenges they have faced in CMDB implementations.  Of the respondents, 45 percent identified “initial gathering of information” or “maintaining the quality of the CMDB over time” as major challenges.
