DAMA Symposium Set for Atlantic City, April 19- 22

"Making Information Management Work" is the theme of the 11th DAMA International Symposium and the collocated 3rd Annual Meta Data Conference on April 19-22, 1999, in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

This event will bring you the latest in what is "good-to-go" in data management. Speakers are lined up in four tracks to provide you with the very latest information on database management, data administration, enterprise data management, data modeling, architectures (data, meta data, e-commerce), standards, and more. Speakers include: Mohammed Rifaie of Royal Bank of Canada, Michael Scofield of Home Savings of America, Larry Dziedzic of Chubb and Son, Judith Newton of National Institute of Standards and Technology, Chris Pound of British Telecommunications, Peter Aiken of Virginia Commonweath University, Anne Marie Smith of Rosenbluth International, and Cathy Nolan and Barb Morgan of Allstate Insurance Company.

In addition, a full day and a half of useful tutorials and workshops are scheduled: Repositories Rekindled by Adrienne Tannenbaum; Managing High-Quality Meta Data by Michael Brackett; Business Rules Driven Requirements Engineering by Barbara von Halle and Ellen Gottesdiener; Data Modeling ­ The Essentials and Beyond by Graeme Simsion; and Information Health Monitor: A Framework for Identifying Information Needs and Measuring Results by Daniel Moody.

Thought-provoking keynote speakers include: Sidhar Iyengar on XMI ­ Distributed Meta Data Interchange for the Web Generation; Larry English on The High Information "Qualitivity" Organization ­ Making Information Work; John Zachman on Thoughts on Reusability and the "Zachman Framework" and Zachman's Law of Reuse; Graeme Simsion on Re- Inventing Data Management; Barbara von Halle on In Search of Business Rule Engineering; and Ron Shelby on First Things First ­ Enabling Faster, Better, Less Expensive Information Services.
