Dear Readers,

The highlight of this issue is the announcement of DM Review's 2002 World Class Solution Awards. With more than 81 entries this year, our judges deserve special thanks for their commitment of time and energy on behalf of DM Review. The World Class Solutions presented on pages 34 through 36 illustrate the power that technology can provide when implemented strategically. Thanks to everyone who participated and congratulations to the winning organizations.

Our annual readership survey is a critical component of our strategy at DM Review. This year's survey, conducted by Gantry Group, a customer market intelligence and advisory firm, is currently being distributed electronically to a random selection of our readership base. Everyone who completes the survey will receive electronic results as soon as they are available and be entered into a drawing for a $500 American Express Gift Cheque. Analysis of the readership survey results will identify the strategic initiatives you consider vital to enterprise success, enable you to compare your organization's progress to other readers' organizations, and identify challenges facing 21st century organizations. Thanks, in advance, for your participation!

I'm also pleased to announce that one of your favorite contributors to DM Review – Colin White – has now agreed to be a columnist. Colin is president of DataBase Associates and founder of Intelligent Business Strategies. In his bimonthly column, Colin will present his perspectives related to business intelligence, corporate portals and intelligent e-business. I would also like to welcome Tom Hoblitzell, managing director of Answerthink's business intelligence group, who replaces David Axson as the author of the CEO Perspectives column. Tom will share his expertise in the practical application of best practices in decision support. David, who began as a DM Review columnist in April of 2000, is concentrating current efforts on his book contract, and DM Review wishes him well in this process.

As always, thanks for reading DM Review!
