Boulder, Colo., Sept. 20, 1999 - Exabyte Corporation announced its associate membership into the FibreAlliance, an open association of leading providers of Fibre Channel-based hardware and software products. Exabyte is the first tape storage company to join the alliance to support the adoption of fibre channel and storage area networks (SANs). Its customers will now have more storage choices in integrated, tested fibre channel solutions.
"We recognize the need to develop an uncomplicated, interoperable framework for customers who realize the full potential SANs have to offer," said Mike Koclanes, general manager and vice president of Exabyte's Storage Network Solutions division. "We are excited to be the first tape storage company to become part of the FibreAlliance and its ground-breaking initiatives."
