March 4, 2013 - Two upcoming industry events aimed at technology and business decision-makers will feature talks and panel discussions or working groups focused on social media in the enterprise.
Gartner Inc.’s “Portals, Content & Collaboration Summit 2013,” to be held April 29 through May 1 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego “empowers business and IT professionals to harness the forces of social, mobile, information and the cloud for optimal engagements,” according to the research firm.
The conference, which will include the latest Gartner research, features tracks focused on areas such as user experience platforms and portals; governing and exploiting content; social collaboration; and the mobile organization.
The social collaboration track will include roundtables on:
- Getting SharePoint and enterprise social networking applications to work together
- Lessons of how YouTube can inspire business value from video content management
- Best practices for making social work for your organization
- Getting enthusiastic support from your security team when it comes to social.
The keynote address will cover the topic, “Engaging at the Nexus of Social, Mobile, Information and the Cloud.” More than 40 companies will demonstrate solutions and tools.
Another event, the “2013 MIT Sloan CIO Symposium,” will examine CIO’s transformational role in building the enterprise of the future. The 10th annual symposium, to be held on May 22 at the MIS campus in Cambridge, Mass., will look at the challenges of developing modern enterprises.
“Now more than ever, the CIO must be nimble and navigate not only the technology playing field, but the entire changing business enterprise,” Kathleen Tetrault, 2013 MIT Sloan CIO Symposium Chair, said in a statement.
The Symposium will feature more than a dozen keynote presentations and interactive panel discussions with business leaders, technology trendsetters and thought leaders from academia. Among the topics to be addressed is “Competitive Advantages through Social Business.”
