ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Feb. 1, 2001 – Essential Communications, provider of networking technology for managing design intensive data and large graphic files, announced the L-7 Router. The L-7 will provide high-speed interconnectivity for high performance networks such as HIPPI and Gigabit Ethernet. This new router was developed to solve the problem of connecting networks that have large mismatches in packet size. Prior to the development of this router, high-speed networks such as HIPPI or Jumbo Frames Ethernet suffered significant performance loss when routed to technologies such as Ethernet due to large variances in network packet size.

"Many of our HIPPI customers were dissatisfied with current interconnectivity solutions because they couldn't get resources off their high performance networks without a major slowdown." Said Brad Allen, Engineering Manager at Essential. "The L-7 Router enables simple and fast connections."
