The EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) Industry Consortium announced from the IIR EAI Congress 2004 in Madrid, that it has recently signed another 13 new members, with total membership now surpassing 150 companies.

The EAIIC is presenting at the EAI Congress, with Spain Country Chair Javier Castrillon presenting the conference opener and Founder and Co-Chairman Michael Kuhbock and Vice-Chairman Steve Craggs also making keynote presentations. David Linthicum is also an EAIIC member and is presenting at the Congress via Webcast on behalf of the EAIIC. The Consortium representatives will be discussing integration topics such as the current status and future developments of EAI, myths and realities of Web services and leveraging service-oriented application integration.

Javier Castrillon, EAIIC Spain Country Chair comments, "The Consortium is delighted to be participating in the EAI Congress here today; it is an extremely useful forum for discussing current integration challenges worldwide and successfully working towards solving those issues."

Michael Kuhbock, co-chairman and founder of the EAI Industry Consortium adds, "The EAIIC is constantly striving to promote best practices in integration and bring tangible benefits to its members, such as how to make the most of their EAI investment and how to avoid the most common pitfalls in an integration project. We are very pleased to see that these benefits are being recognized and consequently our membership base is still growing rapidly."

New members to the Consortium in February and March include a myriad of end users, vendors, system integrators, consultants and independent individuals. End-user members that joined include: China Netcom and Pacific Blue Cross. Vendor members include Web services software companies Amberpoint, Cape Clear Software and Systinet, wireless software vendor Defywire, integration software vendor Somuthwa Technologies and Enterprise Knowledge Repository software company Adaptive Inc. Advisory association members include: Baywood Consulting, CIO Association of Canada, REassociates and Insurance Technology Group. The EAIIC also signed systems integrators ThoughtWorks and Online Business Systems and a number of independent individuals.
