Q:

Part of my group's mandate is that we are responsible for data models across a number of companies. I believe we must institute some kind of "Data Model Certification" process to ensure that our models accurately reflect the physical databases. We've instituted an ad hoc version of this, where we check the entire data model against the database each time we model/implement a schema change. Do you have a "best practices" example of an enterprise process where schema changes can be authorized and the model and database kept in sync?
