Deloitte announced it is expanding its cloud computing services practice, by adding such capabilities as business model development, solution delivery and talent management.

The consulting firm said the expansion marks the continuation of its multi-year investment in cloud computing services. The firm also announced it has named Paul Clemmons, a veteran of its emerging solutions service practice, as head of the cloud computing business unit.

“Cloud computing impacts business strategy, technology architecture and sourcing and services delivery for clients across industries,” Janet Foutty, Deloitte’s national marketing director for technology, said in a statement. “Paul’s experience in practice building and leadership will sharpen our focus on this important market.”

Deloitte said its investments in cloud computing include expanding its capabilities in the planning, design and implementation of cloud adoption services for subscribers. In addition, the firm is boosting its service capabilities in such areas as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) custom development, and cloud-centric data integration.

“These new capabilities enable innovation in business models, speed-to-market and cost efficiencies,” Clemmons said.
