New York, N.Y., April 12, 2000 Datawatch Corporation, a leading provider of enterprise reporting solutions, data transformation tools and support center software, announced an XML product suite that transforms legacy transaction documents and text data streams into XML on an automated basis. The suite, which will be available to Datawatch partners next quarter and to end users in the fall, includes a Windows-based XML GUI designer and an XML Data Pump. The technology will also be incorporated into Datawatch's own line of enterprise reporting products.
Datawatch's new XML Suite allows transaction data, statement data, EDI streams and other structured document information to be extracted, scrubbed, transformed, validated and converted to well-formed XML on an automated basis without new programming. The result is that users can quickly add XML capabilities to in-place back-end transaction processing systems, helping organizations reduce interoperability costs and helping ISV's get products to market more quickly. An example of the value of Datawatch's approach to XML is electronic bill presentment and statement delivery. By using existing bill and statement creation processes to generate XML, users can dramatically speed up e- commerce implementations while fully leveraging their investment in existing systems. Other value examples include formatting data streams as XML on an ongoing basis for third-party data providers and helping financial institutions reconcile information from different regions around the world.
