Vontu, Inc., a leader in data loss prevention solutions, announced that Vontu CEO, Joseph Ansanelli, Oracle CSO, Mary Ann Davidson, and former cyber security advisor to President George W. Bush, Howard Schmidt, will be acting as witnesses in a mock congressional hearing on consumer data protection at RSA 2005 in San Francisco, a leading information security conference.  All three security experts have provided testimony to Congress during hearings on the protection of consumer of data over the past two years.

The testimony will focus on consumer data protection and the impact of identity theft in the United States. For the fifth straight year, identity theft ranked first among all fraud complaints fielded by the Federal Trade Commission.  In 2004, the number of ID theft cases grew by 15 percent over the previous year and now account for 40 percent of all fraud cases reported to the FTC.
