Current Analysis, Inc., a provider of tactical competitive response services and solutions to the telecommunications and information technology industries, announced that it has acquired ARS, Inc., a competitive intelligence advisory firm for the IT hardware, components and consumer electronics hardware and services industries.
Current Analysis has used its award-winning analytical model, Web-based platform and services to create customized competitive response solutions that have enabled hundreds of telecom, IT and e-business clients to deploy actionable sales and marketing intelligence via corporate networks, portals and intranets. ARS has used its business data collection methodologies to penetrate the IT hardware, components and consumer electronics industries. Current Analysis and ARS will be able to collaborate and create an enhanced solution for entry into new market segments where ARS has developed a solid reputation with many of their customers for high quality data and analysis. Both companies have worldwide clients with data collection and analytical presence in the U.S. and Europe.
ARS will continue to operate as an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Current Analysis and will retain its brand. The combined company will have approximately 150 staff and more than 275 enterprise customers, including most industry leaders in the IT, telecom equipment manufacturer, telecom service provider and consumer electronics industries in the U.S. and Europe, as well as systems integrators, financial institutions and numerous government agencies.
The acquisition was financed by Comerica Banks's Technology and Life Sciences Division in Reston, Virginia. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
