Chief information officers can add one more item to their list of things to worry about: portal security.

According to new research from the Yankee Group, opening access to online resources creates a variety of security concerns because it makes information easier to find and use. The easy access to corporate knowledge, experience and processes that portals provide to trusted users also opens the door to unwanted and unauthorized users. Even trusted users will not need access to all of the resources available on the network, Yankee Group says.
