Core Capital Partners, a $180 million private equity fund that invests in early-stage ventures and small to mid-size growth companies, announced today that it led a $3 million round of Series A financing for Clareos Inc., a business intelligence software company based in Herndon, Virginia.

Clareos' CrossCut solution is an enterprise software product that allows businesses to analyze very large amounts of data, such as customer details, transactions or telecom infrastructure details. It is built around three key operational goals: interactive performance against unbounded volumes of data; a free-form, ad hoc query interface; and distributed query execution across a network of independent, parallel servers. Queries involving 100 million to billions of rows of data have response times of seconds to minutes. Compared with existing business intelligence solutions that require expensive hardware and lengthy implementations, CrossCut offers a 5:1 improvement in time to deployment and a 10:1 advantage in total cost of ownership. It is accessible via desktop Web browsers and can be deployed quickly using affordable, industry-standard tools.
