Houston, Texas, Aug. 9, 1999 - The Data Warehousing Institute announced that their Best Practices Award in the Very Large Data Warehouse Technology category will go to the State of New York, Office of the Attorney General/Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (FMCU) - a Compaq Computer Corporation NonStop eBusiness Solutions customer. The Best Practices Award, presented annually, recognizes innovative, real world IT solutions that address problems commonly faced by data warehousing practitioners. In order to win the award, the solution must have had a large and measurable impact on key criteria of business success in the organization.

The award-winning solution consists of a Compaq AlphaServer 8400 host with five ES10000 Enterprise Storage Arrays containing 3.7 terabytes of raw storage. The operating system is Compaq Tru64 UNIX version 4.0E running Oracle8Enterprise Edition.
