After more than two years of development, the World Wide Web Consortium is finally issuing its XML Schema. XML Schemas define shared markup vocabularies and the structure of XML documents.

"XML Schema makes good on the promises of extensibility and power at the heart of XML," says W3C Director Tim Berners-Lee. " XML Schema is the language for building XML applications."
